Raghni Naidu

Founder & Owner, Naidu Wines

Naidu Wines is the 1st Indian Immigrant owned, woman owned winery. Raghni Naidu felt a calling to share her passion for creating memorable experiences for others, believing that wine had a unique way of doing so unlike anything else. Naidu Wines was fueled by that very passion, inspired by the farm-to-table lifestyle she experienced during her travels over the years.

Raghni Naidu's dream is to create wines that are always limited production and high quality, while collaborating with artists who share her vision. She invites you to get intimately acquainted with her wines. Bearing her family name, Naidu, the label embodies the essence of her family and its belief in forging one's own path by pursuing dreams and passions with unwavering dedication, perseverance, and grit, all while paying it forward.

As an immigrant woman staking her claim in this traditionalistic industry, she asserts her belonging and extends the invitation for you to join her on this profound journey she's deeply passionate about.

Laura Ray

Founder & Vintner, Strala Vineyards

Laura grew up with her Swedish family in Wisconsin and was working in the healthcare industry when she unexpectedly won a blind wine tasting competition hosted by master sommelier Andrea Robinson at the St. Helena Culinary Institute of America. Laura beat out scores of participants, including top wine professionals.

Weeks after the tasting, a persistent recruiter convinced Laura to harness her newly discovered tasting abilities into a new line of work at a barrel cooperage.

Though reticent at first, secure in her work in health care, she accepted the challenge and became the top international sales rep for Tonnellerie O. While she bolstered her winemaking education by taking classes at UC Davis, her role selling barrels offered a surprise real-world education as well.

Laura spent much of her time meeting with top winemakers from around the world who sought Tonnellerie O’s elite barrels, tasting their inventory and learning about how barrels impact wine fermentation and aging. The lessons—and secrets—she learned about winemaking during this time shaped the signature barrel aging regimen that Strala would eventually employ.
