Welcome, Jamie Tronnes!

We are very excited to introduce our new Director of Programs, Jamie Tronnes. 

Jamie has been with us for a month, learning from Amy and the rest of the team. The Board and I are looking forward to our programs growing and getting stronger under Jamie’s leadership. 

Jamie Tronnes has worked in over 20 countries on four continents managing democracy promotion and human rights programs. She previously has worked as Director of Programs at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy based in London, UK; as the 2014 Mission Director for the CANEOM Election Observation Mission in Kyiv, Ukraine; as Deputy Regional Director for Africa for the IRI in Washington, DC; and as a USAID conferred Chief of Party and Resident Country Director in Lebanon, Morocco and Pakistan.  

Jamie is passionate about women’s empowerment and has helped to train thousands of women to run for office around the world. She has advised newly elected female representatives on legislative skills, committee management, and effective advocacy. Jamie has a BA in Philosophy from the University of Alberta and an MLitt from the School of International Relations at the University of St. Andrews.
